Focus, People, Focus

2007_05_firefocus.jpg

Growing up a relatively small town where a sizable fire was a fairly rare occurence, we occasionally find ourselves surprised (and anxious) at the number of times we hear a fire truck racing down the street. Earlier this week, we heard about the five-alarm fire in Harvey that devoured three buildings and damaged three others. While watching the report, we couldn't help but think how brave firefighters must be, inexplicably running into a mass of heat and flames as everyone else rushes out.

Our words might be a little sappy, but we are truly thankful that men and women exist who are courageous (or crazy?) enough to do this for a living. Kudos to them for their work, and kudos to Misfires and Strange Errors for a wonderful photo of some of the city's finest.
