the universe only gives us what we can handle. apparently, they don't really hang in the city, because our tree root systems aren't that extensive. they're overtaking the suburbs. so my phobias have been allayed. no cicadas here, it seems. YAY!

i have not yet seen or heard any cicadas in lakeview or any surrounding neighborhoods. im nearly convinced this is a big hoax.

i have some great audio/video footage of the cicada plague taken this weekend in the SW 'burbs. the sound is deafening! i'll try and post it on youtube tonight.

Thanks for the link to the cicada mp3s. I'm disappointed that none of the songs have lyrics about cicadas. Not one. Then again I was skipping around from song to song, so maybe I missed some.
