Here are some incorrect pronunciations that you can use. I heard these when I lived around Polk and Carpenter: aka Little Italy. pasta fagioli = pasta fa-ZOOL capicola = Gahba-GOOL manicotti = mani-GOTT

It's about time someone write this place up Chuck. Excellent lunch for an affordable price. In your list of clientle, you missed one group: staffers from 26th & Cal. I think that's the biggest chunk of people in here. Solis is in there himself quite often too. Gios is pretty good, but it's too small and as you said, more expensive. I also had a bad beef there once too, something I don't forgive no matter where I go. All of these places on Oakley have good lunch specials. A little heavy for the Summer months, but makes for a nice respite from dead of winter.
