Dang I want to see The Trashmen! But I could care less about all those other bands. I miss the Palmer Trader Vic's big time.

Never mind--Hilton sold it to Thor Equities in '05. Hilton still manages it, but is no longer the owner.

The last remaining vintage Chicago tiki palace, the Palmer House Trader Vic's, closed on New Year's Day 2006; it had been there almost 50 years but the hotel's new corporate owners decided that the Loop needed more underground shopping space.

I don't know what your definition of "new" is, but the Hilton Hotels Corporation has owned the Palmer House since 1945.

[shameless plug follows]

Fans of exotica might want to swing by the Holiday Club. Every weekend, Arvo Fingers hosts Atomic Sundays (a celebration of swinging music for the nuclear family). Arvo Fingers, Eric lab Rat, Brian Klein and guests spin EXOTICA, tropicalia, mambo, soul, Vegas Grind, and surf in the Holiday Club's back room fallout shelter.

[shameless plug is over]
