Barnes & Noble gives 40% off. And the title is Harry Potter and the Deathly HALLOWS, not Hollows... (not to sound like a douche) :)

I pre-ordered MY copy way back in February. Much easier than standing in line and I saved 40% to boot. I don't remember if it was from B&N, Amazon.com or amazon.co.uk--whomever sent me the first notice. (Half of my HP books are from the US and half from the UK.) BTW. Our cats are named Harry Potter and Hermione Grainger. But in this case, Harry is the smarter one and,I hate to say, Hermione is dumber than a post.

I remember for Book 5, on the weekend that the book was released, the Costco on Clybourn and Damen had piles and piles of copies at a very good price.

And Barnes and Noble and Borders will still offer a discount in stores. At least they did for the last two releases of HP books.

Borders always keeps the store open and starts selling the book at midnight (I don't know if they all do, but for sure the Michigan Ave. store does). And, tons of parents bring their kids to buy it at midnight, which I think is ridiculous. I think you get a discount if you pre-order it.

Ahhhh well that makes sense then... I was just worried for a second that the person at the Borders info desk was telling falsehoods and I would wind up far from home at midnight, to find a closed store.
