Taste of the Nation

2007_06_rogers_3.jpgJune has been designated as Hunger Awareness Month, and just as the month is winding down, we have one big ticket event to mention in support.

Share Our Strength's "Taste of the Nation" event, happening this evening from 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the River East Arts Center, is a $150-per-person ticket that will raise funds for the Greater
Chicago Food Depository
, Vital Bridges, Operation Frontline/Chicago - Near
North Health Services
and the Illinois Hunger Coalition.

The event brings together 30 of the city's best chefs and 20 United States Bartenders' Guild members for an evening of exceptional wining and dining. Additionally, Charlie Trotter will be honored by Avenues Chef Graham Elliot Bowles, bartending legend Tony Abou-Ganim, and man-about-town Bill Kurtis. It should be fun just to hear Kurtis speak.
