Saw the Transformers, which rocked. Went to a BBQ. Then to a party. Got home about 2 am. The 4th rocked!

I ate some yummy homemade curry for lunch, went on an adventure with an awesome guy and finished up the day watching experimental, hybridized fireworks.

I actually went to the 4th of July parade, where I had the chance to lobby Lou Lang to get a budget passed and Jan Schakowsky to impeach Bush and Cheney. I thought that was a patriotic way to spend the day. Then I went out on my 5th floor balcony, grilled some halibut and watched fireworks in nine different towns along the horizon.

I got up late, drank a Diet Coke for breakfast and watched the marathon of "Single in the Hamptons" on WE. Seriously -- it was all about empty calories. In the afternoon, I took CTA to a friend's house in Forest Park for a barbecue. From my place in Lakeview, it took 2 hours. I was kinda crabby after the long trip, but cold drinks and friendly dogs were just the thing for my mood.

some might still complain of the use of the plural chicagoist ["we went here ... we did this,"], and i think sometimes its a bit silly in a bad way, but while reading this post i was amused by the image i had in my mind of the chicagoists all teethered to each other, in somewhat matching, Electric Company-type ensembles, shuffling down the street, bopping along on the ride to indiana, then standing all shoulder to shoulder watching fireworks at the end of the day. but that's just me, and i'm weird like that.

for my fourth i was awoken past midnight by similar fuckjob neighbors who made the trek to indiana or wisconsin. thanks a bundle, folks!
