You know, I kind of like the "Chicagoist" third-person schtick. It harkens back to the olden days of journalism, sort of like the New York Times referring to everyone as "Mr. Man" or "Ms. Woman." A nice throwback for new media. I say keep it.

Is anyone else just completely fed up with everything being referred to as "Chicagoist?"

Yes.

It would be less aggravating if "Chicagoist" wrote like HST.

More like:

"Benjy Lipsman had spent part of Saturday afternoon watching Buehrle pitch..." because certainly not all the Chicagoist authors were watching the Sox.

Good for the Sox...even as a Cubs fan this thing was really starting to piss me off. When I heard rumors that the MLBPA tried to block the deal because they thought he could get more money on the open market I was livid. I've always thought Buehrle was a punk but I have a lot of respect for any player who gives his team a hometown discount in this day and age.
