Loved this book. Literally took it off a friend's bedside table and never returned it. It was super fascinating, informative, and incredibly funny for a potentially morbid subject. Reading it again tonight as it is probably on my bedside table...

This is one of my favorite books. I tore through it in about a day, it was that fascinating. You really will think about the human body in a much different way. Sadly, her follow up, Spook, was a terrible let down. It's her "scientific" analysis of possible afterlife/paranormal events, but it was a snooze. I was more disappointed with that book than any other because I had such high expectations for it. I still love her, though, and I'm eager to see what she comes out with next.

Personal pet peeve: "... but really, we need less reasons to take off on a drug-addled roadtrip ..." No, you need FEWER reasons. And I admit, I'm probably the last person in the English-speaking world to care about this.

This is one book I have recommended to everyone I know. It's totally fascinating! Wait until you read about what they can use your tissue for!

excellent choice. gruesome, funny and poignant. and the first "convince us" book that i've actually read beforehand!
