I just don't go to bars where there's a cover, more on principle than anything else. It's basically akin to handing out a bribe and saying, "Psst! Here's some money! Make me look cool!"

$10 cover for a bar/club like this is pretty cheap. Some places are up to $25.

Fair enough, fair enough. Didn't know there was a $10 cover on weekends--seems a bit excessive when drinks and food costs are already up there. Maybe just stick to going there on weekdays, or of course, not at all!

Please,I live in the neighborhood and I tried to stop by Friday night after the Vision 12 gallery openings and they had the usual black-suited doormen that seem to have taken over every other club in the area,this was about 8pm and they wanted $10 to get in to see some cheesy cover-band that was playing Pat Benatar.From the looks of the crowd I want no part of this "scene",once the sheen wears off I can't wait to see some Direct Mail piece in my mailbox with a buy-one-get-one-free offer!

Great review...i like that Chicagoist is going to start reviewing more places downtown...there are a lot of great places around there!! and that first picture of the martini glass is awesome!!
