The show seemed to be running a little early so I missed the firt half of Great Northern's set, but I really dug what I did see. live they're a lot louder than I would've thought and I liked seeing the songs injected with a heavy dose of rawk and reworked from their recorded versions.

As for The Comas, i loved their set, but it was also my first time seeing them so I didn't have anything to judge it against. The crowd was strangely talkative towards the back, but I just moved forward until the drums blocked that distraction out.

And I've decided that their guitarist Nicole Gehweiler (along with the gal from Birds Of Avalon) is in the running for the official "Tankboy's Hottest Women in Rock 2007."

Cute

a great voice
+
handling lead guitar duties for the majority of the set

i gotta say, Great Northern continues to impress me with their sound, their vibe and their likability. i was let down by the Comas set - what did you think, Tankboy? IMHO their best song of the night wasn't theirs...it was the Ween tune at the end. was it the venue? the loud people in back? or the fact that they never played the track 'sarah t'?!
