They should have more Polack games. There's usually peace and quiet in my neighborhood any time they play at Soldier Field.

The teams were selected to try and draw fans from Chicago's diverse population. The most recognizable team is Sevilla FC from Spain

The number of people of Spanish ancestry in Chicago doesn't even register in the census. Maybe the 1500 Portuguese in Chicago will represent for their Iberian brethren.

This is a pretty lame tourney. Toluca and Wisla Krakow are both mediocre and Reggina Calcio was one of the teams indicted for fraud last year in the Calciopoli investigations!

Crains has an interesting article about how Daley is playing this tourney up to impress the Olympic Committee. Its no wonder they are offering 2 for 1 tickets--it would be pretty embarassing for Daley to have these games played in front of an empty Soldier Field!

That may be the worst looking trophy in the history of sport. (See latest press release on Chicago Trophy site.)
