Hello miss mcCoy!! (if it is you, you'll know what i'm talking about)
I ran into this by accident. We used to drink together before you (and your click) just blew me off back in 1996 or so. Don't worry i'm not trying to get in contact with you. I was just wondering, what became of the rest of the gang (your gang that is).

Russel
Dana
Brenda (what was here real last name)
Jenny

I couldn't figure out how to send you an email so I posted this as a comment.

I'll check it in a week or so.

I was at Lolla for all 3 days, and just figured I'd share a few experiences with anyone who cares.

First, amidst the critics trying to justify their decisions to see Daft Punk, nobody seems to be mentioning the Ben Harper show on Friday where Eddie Vedder showed up and did an awesome duet with Ben.

Second, Brian Aubrey from Silversun Pickups sounded less hoarse than normal live. Awesome set on Friday. Than Nicki Monninger (the bassist) showed up for a duet with Snow Patrol (I wasn't there) on Saturday, and then with Peter, Bjorn and John on Sunday. You couldn't charge me enough to see this class act.

Third, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah beat all predictions of doom on Saturday. 5 of 6 people in our group agreed that was the performance that most exceeded expectations.

TV on the Radio seemed overhyped, sorta generic stuff, but the singer's vocals don't really match up well with the music. Sorta like Plain White T's (not that Plain White T's were there).

Muse was awesome on Saturday, and Pearl Jam was prolly 'bout a 90/100. Too much talking and politicking, and for quite a few people there, the crowd singing along was louder than the music from the stage. Weird.

Awesome peaceful crowd generally, though when Lolla asks me (and they will), I'm going to recommend that they either ban liquor sales until 6 or 7, or they limit sales to 2 or 3 per adult for each day. There were too many drunks at night on Friday and Saturday, and quite annoying at that.

Finally, the closest I saw to a riot was a few stoned pimply 14 year old boys at the TV On the Radio show. People were walking around barefoot all weekend, and about 50 densely packed people get to witness one of these assholes take a liquor bottle out, finish it, and then stomp on it to shatter it. Still don't have an answer on what anyone was supposed to do 'bout that one.

All in all an excellent weekend.

Degotaris--or whatever his name is--from the Sun Times had the best coverage of this fest, by far.

going in to chicagoist's lollapalooza coverage, i had high expectations. let me tell you all about my expectations, because everyone cares about my precious expectations. i expected chicagoist would be concise, offer a fresh perspective, and not drown the site with coverage of a pseudo local event that attracts more out of towners than locals. it's impossible not to have expectations. needless to say, my expectations...who cares, shut up already!
