He's sexy AND nice. His girlfriend is a lucky woman!

And no, I am not her -or- him. Just someone who's met him a few times at events, and who likes good people of all kinds.

That dude is also one of the people who are responsible for Chicago having a very strong writing community/scene/whatever, one of the reasons culture is vibrant in the big Midwestern city.

But hey, if all you want to talk about is how the dude looks, I'll meet you for Starbucks and we can read RedEye together, dude.

OK interview, I guess, but it's become tiresome to question people, whatever the profession, about whether they see themselves as stars. The interview subject offers nothing new on this subject, and that the interviewer keeps hitting on the point just adds a note of boredom to the piece.

It might have been nice to ask the guy about the directions that Chicago-centered literature has been taking lately, and how that compares to 50 or so years ago, and what kinds of new voices he sees cropping up, or how the relatively strong reading performance scene in this city affects what goes into the printed page--how the two delivery forms relate to and influence each other, if they do at all. The challenges of operating a local press could have been explored in more depth. I am sure he has deep thoughts on this subject, given his wide range of work.

Then again, perhaps you did ask and the dude didn't have smart answers.

that dude is a 30 year old Harry Potter and probably also the guest who said "that guy is sexy".
