Mr. Dahl ...? I don't get it, Chuck.

And I say the same thing everytime you Chicagoistas start spouting off about registration ... I have no interest in being part of the clique, I don't buy into your stupid reasons to do it, and I refused to be nagged into it.

It looks a lot like Cabra al Romero, which is a Spanish goat cheese with rosemary. Fromartharie is only an importer, and it looks like (from their website) primarily a branding/marketing organization... so you might try asking for the Cabra instead...

You might also be hitting the "Costco" effect. Because they are a "bulk" reseller, sometimes they will stock an item because they've negotiated a big buy, but not regularly carry it. I've had that happen before there.

It might also be because good goat season is on the wane... if it's a fresh goat cheese, the season is really best in spring/early summer. As fall approaches, we goat lovers (that doesn't sound quite right...) will have to do with aged cheese, unless you want factory farmed chevre... and who wants that!

I recommend Delice de Bourgogne triple-cream cheese. It's spreadable and superbly edible. You can get it at Binny's Skokie.

I think that my mom grabbed this cheese completely by accident last weekend when we were at a great market, City Fresh Market, at Kedzie and Devon. I love it. It has the rosemary and looks just like the photo you posted. I hope that's it!

I'd suggest you contact the company and find out who their Midwest distributor is. Then you could find out where to buy it here.

Did you call Binny's? They have yummy selections at the Clark St. and Skokie locations.

Have you tried calling Pastorial (sp?) on Broadway? Also, check with a few different Whole Foods, as they don't all have the same product. My Whole Foods (Halsted & Waveland) has these *divine* Dark Chocolate Goat Cheese Truffles. The cheese guy told me they were the only WF in the city carrying them. Good luck. Goat cheese with rosemary sounds divine.

How dissapointing! I don't know where to get that fabulous sounding cheese, but I have a suggestion for next month. I'm heavy into Portugese chesses lately, and Serra da Estrela is awesome. You can get it from Fox & Obel.
