Who is looking out for Landlords ?

All these laws are basically giving the tenants more rights than the landlord.

Have any of you ever tried to go through court and evict a deadbeat ? It is damn near impossible. And all the while, your expenses to run and maintain your property continues and the tenant is not paying.

But you cannot screen out gays, single mothers, Section 8 voucher holders or others you do not want in your property.

This system needs to change.

It's good that the state is helping out the tenants, but is that true that tenants get little or no warning? Foreclosure proceedings can take a bit of time, and I looked up the Illinois Legal Aid website, and they state:

"If the foreclosure goes through to completion, you can’t be evicted unless you’ve been formally included in the court case. Illinois law states clearly that foreclosure judgments can be “enforced only against those persons personally named as individuals in the complaint.” A generic listing of “unknown tenants or occupants” isn’t good enough. Whoever takes over the property through a foreclosure sale should step into your landlord’s shoes, and become your landlord. If that new landlord decides they don’t want you as a tenant, they can try to evict you through the regular eviction procedures. That means giving you a written notice, followed by an eviction suit in court.

Where are you getting your info from?

Tenents can be evicted with little notice? News to me - read any landlord blog - it's darn near impossible to evict a tenant. I agree people should be given reasonable notice and adequate time to pay, but not squatter's rights.
