Well, just goes to show - you can build a jillion-dollar, state-of-the-art call center, and it's still going to fail if you staff it with the kind of employees that the City of Chicago seems to hire in droves. I am unsurprised to learn from your July 17 post on this that two members of our outstanding police force apparently just blew the call off. Doubtless they had to go administer an emergency beating in a bar somewhere. Tankboy, Chicago is the city that works - the catch is that, for it to work, you have to be the Mayor's nephew, brother, in-law, friend, or campaign contributor. The rest of us are here to pay taxes, get our cars ticketed, get shaken down every time we want a permit, and get beaten by the police on off duty. Don't get me wrong - the city (small "c") is and always will be the greatest place in the world: so great, in fact, that I want to live here despite the incompetent, semi-literate thug that runs the place.
