Speaking of Scientology …

scientology.jpgFor those interested in learning more about Scientology off the job, the church is expanding its Chicago presence.

The Church of Scientology is setting up shop at the former Artcraft Building in the South Loop, at 650 S. Clark. When the flagship center opens next summer there will be activities, social services and, presumably, auditing. The building’s previous tenants, ACORN and the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation, moved out because the space and crumbling façade needed attention that the previous owners weren’t willing to give. Renovation will now be on John Travolta's tab.

The Church outgrew its space on Lincoln in Lakeview; the new downtown digs will have a sitting room with informational displays on the religion, classrooms and a chapel. It will probably not have Tom Cruise.

Religion? really? That's what category you're posting this under? Shouldn't it go under comedy? Or maybe celebrities?

the scientology chapter outgrew its space? *shudder* i guess that's better than having both branches open at once.. the less scientologists, the better. although i will miss seeing the old chapter when i go to the golden apple.

that new building must have more room for the space ship.

I can't believe people believe in religion let alone Scientology.

But then GWB did get elected in this country so I guess we aint to sharp!

4: My thoughts exactly.

I love how some people substitute one set of superstitions with another, even crappier set of superstitions.

One can be a good person without having to rely on the crutch of religion.

Man, religion stinks, give me another PBR. Free Tibet! What is that about again?

They didn't out grow anything, they just want to give the appearance that they're growing. When in fact they are shrinking and Withering like grapes on the vine.

Between the internet and Southpark, I suspect that they are on the ropes bigtime, recruitmentwise. The only thing they have going for them is their considerable real estate portfolio. Go by one of their large orgs sometime, they're practically empty with the exception of L.A., Clearwater and the Time Square centers which get tons of tourist traffic and curiosity seekers hoping to catch a glimpse of a d-list celebrity or at least, Xenu.

I'm a Scientologist and I'll tell you that this crazy story about Xenu is total crap. Some people in the press keep saying that this Xenu story is what Scientologists believe. This is such garbage and it's a story repeated over and over and is intended to keep people from looking into what Scientology actually is. So why would some in the media intentionally try and keep people away from Scientology you ask? Because most media is well paid by the pharmaceutical industry. They see Scientology as a threat to their profits because it is. Scientology has many, many answers that work and are practical. Let's look at 1 example of how the psychiatric drugging industry is hurt by Scientology technology... Let's assume you know someone who has been depressed for several months or even years. Did you know that with Scientology you can literally snap him out of his dark days and make him feel happy again, sometimes in less than five minutes. How could this be? Because Scientology helps and works like nothing else before it. There is no need to be on a psychiatric drug everyday for the rest of your life. This is just one of thousands of solutions Scientology has and it would take literally books to tell you all it has to offer and can do. Give a Scientologist just a few minutes of your time and you'll quickly realize what a sham psychiatry and the psychiatric drugging business is. It's OK to be skeptical about Scientology, but don't assume that what you've been told about it is actually true. Just ask yourself would all these celebrities be involved in it if didn’t help them and others tremendously?

Scientology celebrity question and answer.

Q. Just ask yourself would all these celebrities be involved in it if didn’t help them and others tremendously?

A. As the average IQ of all the Scientology celebrities is probably below 100, I think that goes some way to explaining how they ended up being involved in Scientology.

Re: Guest #9

The Xenu secret is out. You can't deny it anymore, I've read OT III you probably haven't. As a matter of fact I have every OT I-VIII, and I'm going to help distribute it all over the Internet.

You're paranoia about the pharmaceutical industry if funny $cientology is not a threat to them. The reason people don't look into $cientology is because your cult leaders keep their literature secret, and they copyright everything, and they sue, and threaten people who post it on the Internet. The other reason people don't look into Scientology is because to do so they have to pay through the nose. Also it's just crazy, it's not a religion it's a corporate cult.

Then you commit one of the oldest logical falsies I've ever heard. You make an appeal to celebrity. You should do it because these rich famous people are doing it too. I follow my own path, I'll never follow L Ron Hubbard. Is that why you joined the Co$, LOL? So sad, and if you read this don't answer that question because I don't care.

Why spend thousands of dollars trying to learn about the human mind when everything you need to know is in the book DISCO HYPNOTIC?
