Chicago won't be waiting until the Cubs win the World Series to celebrate. Given the Cubs' postseason track record over the past 99 seasons, that's probably a smart idea. A rally to celebrate the Cubs making the playoffs will be held at noon on Monday in Daley Plaza.
While Cubs fans celebrate downtown, the Cubs themselves will head to Arizona. While baseball's regular season concluded on Sunday, the wild card won't be determined until a one-game playoff between the Padres and Rockies is played on Monday, but the Cubs know for certain that they will be facing the Diamondbacks in the opening round of the playoffs. Game 1 will be played on Wednesday.

I'm glade it rained
Benjy, no team is waiting to celebrate. There is this thing called 'Rally Monday'. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070929&content_id=2238650&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
Even the Yankees are having Rally Monday and think of all their World Series wins. That's okay though, make a joke about the Cubs and don't do any research.
It's kind of like when White Sox fans, given their postseason record since 1917, thought it was probably a smart idea to hold a rally in the exact same spot at the exact same point in the season in 2005:
