I'm just happy I'll get to see me some more Matt Murton. I know he'll probably be gone next year. *sigh*

And as far as the cautious optimism, YES. I don't want my heart broken again like in 03. UGH.

33, you've seen baseball (or hell, any sport) in HD, right? there's no comparison. plus, it's the goddamn postseason. if TBS is going to hog all the games, they can at least make them look good.

Wait -- you mean to tell me there's no TBS HD right now? How in the world will we ever watch the games?!

Oh, in regular D, like we've been doing for years. Whiners.

I have to agree with Guest 31 - given the way this season started (and last year's performance) winning the division is a lot further than I'd expected them to go. I'm pulling for them with the "cautious optimism" noted above. They've got a shot (since everything changes in the postseason), but I'm not getting TOO excited just yet.

I haven't seen any Cubs fans gloating. They're happy to be in the post-season but they know the history. It's all cautious optimism as a Cubs fan.

Matt,
Less them having a rally than the gloating and lack of perspective about how they got there. I'll watch and pull for them as I'm happy for any Chicago team's success but I'm still afraid that they're all hat and no cattle.

All of you guys making fun of the Cubs for having a rally on Monday, you should realize that the Sox did it too - and every team does "Rally Monday" since 2004. It's an MLB thing. *shrug*

Guest 23, there was a White Sox rally in '03? That seems silly given that the Cubs were the one that made the playoffs that year :) Was it some sort of "you tried your best" rally?

Navin...i assume you're snarky comment is in reference to the rally yesterday. MLB sponsors rallies in every playoff city, including Chicago. i think they're all stupid but it definitely wasn't the Cubs jumping the gun. They did the same for the White Sox in 2003.

Comcast WILL have TBS HD by Wednesday.

And Guest 15, it was even more fun to be a White Sox fan watching in 2003 in a bar full of Cubs fans. I was the only one cheering Bartman, but I knew the bar tenders were Sox fans and had my back...

The late start's inevitable since Arizona's the only western team and Boston, Philly, and Cleveland are all an hour ahead. But MLB's shooting themselves in the foot again by relegating the entire Division Series and NLCS to cable. At least the NBA throws us a game or two on broadcast TV before the finals.

The worst part about this is that TBS has no HD channel (at least on Comcast). Even regular season, local-market games are mostly on HD. Inexcusable. Thanks, TBS.

a.) people in stripes shirts in Lincoln Park usually get Mexican food after a night of drinking. Then they try to speak Spanish with the people working at the taco places in a really condescending manner

b.) I don't think there was an issue with the White Sox games only being on cable. I'm pretty sure those were all on Fox, but I could be wrong. It does seem sort of unfair that the games are only on cable but on the other hand, who the hell doesn't have cable? If you're a Cubs fans, there are a ton of games on Comcast anyway. So I'm guessing most Cubs fans have cable. So, no big deal. And if you don't, go to a bar.

Hey Shannon, just head over to any Lincoln Park Bar with the rest of the trixes and all your "desires" will be met by your yuppie frat boy/girl brethren who also love the cubs.

I can deal with the kinky sexual practices with a goat, its not my thing but as Dan Savage would say I'm GGG in practice and in principal( as long as the goat’s happy), but its nothing but sad when any thinking people fail to grasp how horrible it would be for a horde of Cubs fans to be running a mock on the streets if the Cubs win, unless said person has roots in that mindless yuppie west suburban, white male Americana hyperbole.

Any body feel a Spook on this?
Has any body else passed by Cubs Field and just get sick seeing all those mindless zombies celebrating?

I mean if a women has to consciously or subconsciously single that they can relate to
the mindless male sheep in the drivers seat by liking baseball, at least they can do is like the team favored by working class whites and minorities, the Sox.

I mean what kinda team adopts a homeless modern day Black Male Minstrel Mascot, in the person of Ronnie Woo Woo? Da Cubs of course!

Damn, I just spilled my coffee!

I'm out
