Dean had the Dean Scream, in which a unidirectional lapel microphone completely tuned out the crowd he was shouting over; that fact never mentioned by most pundits and anchorpeople (ABC's GMA excepted), Dean was quickly dismissed as an unelectable loon.

Obama will have this, and Hillary will get the Dem nomination, and the 'Pubs will ride to a 2008 win because there's no effective difference between Hillary and the 'Pubs, not enough to polarize people behind her.

Because this country is damn f—in' stupid and never wants anything but the sound bites, and Obama likes to give intelligent, well-thought answers. And it would be extremely threatening to have a person who thinks and has honor in the White House.

This is why the country can't have nice things.

Yes, Obama was initially responding to a question posed to him in a television interview, but then it was his choice to bring it up again in front of the crowd at a rally the next day. He should have just let it drop.

Why does everyone keep acting like Obama "brought it up?"

I'm pretty sure there was a question, not Obama saying, "Hey, any of you guys notice I'm not wearing a lapel pin?"

Shannon said "fox news' pic makes him look like the devil incarnate."

That is an Associated Press photo accompanying an Associated Press wire story. But I guess we see what we want to see...

No one has to wear a little flag pin. In some ways it is as fake as all the douche-bags wearing the yellow LiveStrong bracelets. If you are patriotic, show it with your actions, not some dollar pin. If you care about cancer show it with your actions, not some dollar rubber bracelet.

That said it is utterly pretentious for Obama to bring it up. It is like the guy who goes on and on about how he doesn't own a TV, as if that makes him better than everyone else.

Barack is clearly trying to appeal to the anti-war far left crowd, which has always maintained that it is more patriotic to burn the American flag in protest than to actually display it. Remember, he's trying to win the Democratic nomination?

Sen. Obama you're a politician who wants to be president of the entire USA - not just parts of Chicago's liberal lakefront. Wear the flag pin you friggin' pinhead! What good is trying to make this tiny distinction betweek faux and real patriotism doing for your campaign? The rest of America is not as looney as Hyde Park. Your standing on principle wins you 200 votes as you cast off 200,000 other voters.

Barack is a moron for making a big deal out of this, more proof that he's not ready for prime time. I agree with his view on Pin-gate, but really, why make a big deal? Is he that desperate to win the affections of the Code Pink crowd?

That said, with the media contanstly spending more attention of these types of non-issues, and fundraising totals, instead of actual ideas and records, I am constantly reminded what a stupid fucking country we live in.
