In probably his most bizarre comment to date, Rudy Giuliani paid Barack Obama a big compliment yesterday. In a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition, Giuliani cited Obama's statement that he would engage leaders of renegade nations, including meeting with leaders of Iran, Cuba and North Korea, without precondition. "Then he went on to explain that Ronald Reagan negotiated with the communists," Giuliani told the audience. "I say this most respectfully: You're not Ronald Reagan, you know?"
Ronald Reagan is the last thing Obama voters want. But Giuliani isn't trying to reach Obama voters: ever since Fred Thompson started flirting with the GOP nomination, conservatives have been excited about the possibility of their next Ronald Reagan. At least when Hillary, who is courting Reagan voters, attacked Obama about this, she didn't sound like a bad impression of Lloyd Bentsen.

Friday Afternoon Diversion: Earth With Rings

what?
Ron Paul 2008
I think Giuliani's given himself another Viagra overdose!
Wait--I thought Ronald Reagan stood up like a bad-ass cowboy to those damn Ruskies and single-handidly brought down the Soviet empire.
At least that's how some of the GOP macho-men and propagandists talk.
Now Rudy's talking 'bout negotiations? I am sooo confused.
What's funny is that Reagan, for all his many faults, likely would not have been dumb enough to invade Iraq--or, at the least, would have had advisors too smart to make that strategic mistake [after all, some of those former Reagan advisors are against our misadventures in Iraq].
And does Rudy think he of the hot temper is one to negotiate? Yeah, right. Rudy's smart, but he's too quick to pull triggers.
God, what a stupid country we live in ....
"I say this most respectfully: You're not Ronald Reagan, you know?" and then he probably said "You know the first time I thought that was when I was down at ground zero on 9/11."
What a tool.
I am writing as a Republican who thinks that going into Iraq was a huge, completely avoidable mistake.
As the current race heats up, Democrats have a lot of momentum because of anti-Iraq War sentiment.
However, that sentiment can't be used very well against Giuliani. No matter what one thinks about the decision to go into Iraq, one fact is clear. It was not Giuliani who got us in there.
Oh, and it is kind of silly for Obama to suggest that Reagan's foreign policy actions were similar to those proposed by Obama. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I hate Rudy Giuliani. He is a Skeletor looking sleezebag puppet who can't say anything about his own issues, so all he does is slam Democrats at every opportunity. It's bizarre.
Did anyone see the debate last week? Every question he was asked he managed to sneak in something about how Hillary is wrong on the issue. I don't think he ever directly responded to anything by other Republican candidates.
He makes me sick. Go read this on Drudge if need a dose of his fear and insanity: http://www.drudgereport.com/flashrh.htm
"He is a Skeletor looking sleezebag puppet"
I will never, ever stop laughing.
