Barack Obama Is Not Ronald Reagan

By Kevin Robinson in News on Oct 17, 2007 3:20PM

2007_10_rudy_guliani.jpgIn probably his most bizarre comment to date, Rudy Giuliani paid Barack Obama a big compliment yesterday. In a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition, Giuliani cited Obama's statement that he would engage leaders of renegade nations, including meeting with leaders of Iran, Cuba and North Korea, without precondition. "Then he went on to explain that Ronald Reagan negotiated with the communists," Giuliani told the audience. "I say this most respectfully: You're not Ronald Reagan, you know?"

Ronald Reagan is the last thing Obama voters want. But Giuliani isn't trying to reach Obama voters: ever since Fred Thompson started flirting with the GOP nomination, conservatives have been excited about the possibility of their next Ronald Reagan. At least when Hillary, who is courting Reagan voters, attacked Obama about this, she didn't sound like a bad impression of Lloyd Bentsen.
