It's Never Too Late for Cupcakes

2007_10_cupcakes%21.jpgWe have food on the brain today here at the Chicagoist offices. Now that it looks as though the worst of the bad weather has passed, you should go out and toast its passing by eating a cupcake.

Today is National Cupcake Day. Not that one needs a reason to munch on some cupcakes; it's just another of those benign food "holidays" that puts a smile to our face and reminds us that life is in the living. Other food holidays coming up include National Bologna Day (October 24), National Chocolate Day (October 28), National Candy Corn Day (October 30), National Deviled Egg Day (November 2), and National Pizza with the Works Except Anchovies Day (November 12).

But mainly, it just gave us an excuse to run a picture of a cupcake holding cupcakes.
