As several commenters pointed out, Second City Cop has been on the CTA identity theft case for a few days--and the story there is that a reverend who's on the CTA board attempted to keep the arrest quiet. The only reverend on the CTA's board of directors is Charles E Robinson. Our call to the Board's main office was not immediately returned.

Jeanette Sliwinski's psychiatrist testified today that she "didn't see any psychotic symptoms" in Sliwinski six days before the crash.

Governor Blagojevich says he wants to fix the transit funding issues without increasing taxes. Welcome to the club, sir! We call ourselves "everyone."

Time for our daily dose of Daley Angry! Today, it's with the 28 aldermen who want the City to release the names of the police officers most accused of misconduct. "It's easy to criticize police. It's only 13,000 [officers] . Kick 'em when they're down. Kick 'em and keep kicking 'em. Go home. See your name in the press. Sign a petition. I guess that's what you do in life," he said.

Don't worry, cab fares aren't going up.

Watch out, deadbeat parents: Blago signed a bill today that authorizes the State to boot your car and suspend your license if you don't pay child support.

More sad stories of gun violence: a 14-year-old died yesterday after being shot this weekend, trying to prevent the theft of his friend's bike.

Finally, don't forget to dress your dog up in Bears outfits.

Way to go Chicagoist! Makin' some calls, findin' out who's that "reverend" and where his store front "church" is? That's right Slum Times...I know you fell out but is you woke yet?!

Maybe for the sake of say, fairness, Chicagoist should recuse itself from further commenting on the Sliwinski trial. Whereas the Trib offers "driver's illness disputed" Chicagoist does the hard job of thinking for us and distills the story down to useful bits of incompleteness-- She...ain't...nuts. A sin of omission given her own doctor's statements to the contrary.
Why don't you just hang the b*tch? Seems like that's what you're really after given the "coverage" thus far. Or am I misinterpreting?

Vermin, you are the Riffs of avitars.
