Yes, I expect that the receptionist at Joe Moore's office should be able to refer the call on to someone who could answer the question. But read carefully what the Chicagoist said: We called Joe Moore's office, and the person who answered had no idea what we were talking about. They don't say whether the person offered to refer them on, or whether they asked to be referred on. All they say is that the receptionist was clueless about a lawsuit downtown. You should be happy about this, given that the usual complaint is that Joe's staff pays too much attention to non-ward issues. This is one of those non-ward issues, and the staff isn't paying attention. Now you act like it's the most important thing in the world to you. Which is it? The common factor here is whining. If it's sunny, you complain that it's hot. If it's cool, you complain there's no sun. Wanky, wanky, wanky.

Yeah, Tom Westgard, there you go again kissing Joe Moore or Less' ass. You think that maybe the person who answers the phone at Aldermaniac Moore's office would at least be able to refer the call to someone in the office that actually would know about this current and hot topic? I do. And so should anyone who calls. This is just another example of the failure of having Moore or Less as a representative of the Rogers Park community.

I'm all for stopping police brutality, but I'm not sure how knowing the names of the offending police officers will help the aldermen? Wouldn't fixing OPS and putting a system in place to stop the abuse be a better plan? Knowing the names of the police officers will do diddly squat, except possibly have them or their family members at risk for harm, and then we would have yet another lawsuit on our hands.

So, you get through to one person who doesn't know, and from this you conclude... what? That therefore nobody knows anything? Where's the logic in that? How about, you didn't talk to the right person? If you're going to be all clever, you have to actually be clever. Fake stupidity disguised as cleverness doesn't qualify.
