I think that term is new this year...we always used to call it "the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving." Too long, I guess.

That's my point, people have suddenly appropriated the term to apply to the Wednesday before Thanksgiving now. Dumb dumb dumb, if you ask me. Like we need another made-up holiday. How long until Hallmark starts Marketing "Drink your face off on Black Wednesday" cards?

We HATE the term Black Wednesday. Yes, the day the Bank of England had to withdraw from the ERM is a hated day indeed. I believe the term you're looking for is "Black Friday".
