i wouldn't mind if they were privatized so much if there were acutally some competition. as it is they have monopolies on the state.

I can't take the cold inside. I keep my place at least 74 degrees when I'm home and I don't believe in being "bundled up"inside. No sweat shirts either, sweaters, etc, just short sleeves. So yea my winter heating bill is high, but I make it up in the summer with no air conditioning. But here is a factoid. In Illinois,all year round at least 60 thousand house holds go with out heat and or electricity. I think all utilities, gas and electric, should not be privatized. Amron, Peoples Gas, Com Ed, Exelon,etc, suck!

I wish this regulation applied to roommates. Last winter, my apartment was a constant 58-60 degrees, and 50-54 overnight. My old roommate was adamant about keeping the monthly gas bill around $50 all winter long, and would stealthily turn down the thermostat once I went to bed. Thank goodness for my "secret" spaceheater in my room!
