Oprah has been doing everything in her colossal and terrifyingly formidable power to see that Obama is elected, but now she's taking it up a notch by going on the campaign trail with him.
While she won't be offering everyone in Iowa a new car, she will be stopping there in the first week of December, as well as in South Carolina and New Hampshire. Tickets for each of the four stops (two in Iowa, one in each of the other locations) will be free per usual, but the campaign is still asking that the audience offer help to the candidate in return. For the more rabid Obama and Oprah fans there is "preferred seating" which requires either a commitment to train to become an organizer or four hours of volunteer work.
In the past, Oprah has shown that she can popularize even the most hideously annoying of her friends (cough) Rachael Ray (cough, cough), and now she will try to do the same with a presidential candidate. And Oprah always gets her way. So ... may God have mercy on the other candidates.

as much as I'd love to see Biz-rack as our next president, i really don't want the Oprah stink on him. for four years she'll be taking credit for getting him elected. is there anyway that we can excommunicate her to whatever island she owns in Hawaii? make it it's own country and she's the "benevolent" dictator of that country.
There has been some recent research that celebrity endorsements do little to help candidates at the polls. Oprah isn't nearly as powerful as everyone thinks. She's just good at inspiring greed and running as far away from your origins as possible.
I never really understood Oprah's appeal. Maybe she can have him on one of her "Favorite Things" episodes.
just another reason why not to vote for him.
