Police are questioning three people possibly connected to Amadou Cisse's murder. As of 2:30 this morning, no one has been charged with anything, and the U of C continues to offer $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. It's not clear yet if the people being questioned are connected with the red-doored, silver-bodied car police located last week.
The University is holding a memorial service for Cisse on Friday, and is accepting donations for his family in Senegal. They've also set up a police substation on 61st and Drexel and added two vans to the SafeRide (aka drunk van) program, which shuttles students around Hyde Park starting at 10pm.

There is also a condolence book which should be available in the Reynolds Club (Student Center) this week. If you'd like to add something contact Scott at srduncom@uchicago.edu and he'll either get you to the book or add your thoughts.
Everything will be translated into French, by a student on the week of the 10th, for Amadou's family.
its funny my ex leaves for Senegal in a couple of weeks and she’s got those pre trip jitters, but this time overly so about going to one of Africa's most stablest countries with less crime than South Africa. She's been going and on about it. Then two days ago she sent me an article about vendors in Dakar protesting the government. They blocked off some streets and set some tires on fire, but no arrests or lives lost. In inturn I sent her a recap on Amadou Cisse being murdered on our American Streets. I think I made my point
