The poverty pimp, Alderman Isaac Carothers, now gets a chance for more press time as leads the charge against police officers who are just trying to do their jobs. Armed criminals? To Carothers, member of the Police and Fire Committee of the City Council, these gun-toting jerks are future rap stars. I was at the aldermanic offices today at 4:00 PM to meet with another alderman. While waiting at the front of Suite 300, a Fox news crew came in asked for Carothers, and Carothers waddled out and did an on-camera interiew near the elevators. Carothers, in preparation for his newspaper and TV appearances about the new superintendent, was better dressed than I've seen lim in a while. He had on a dark blue pin-stripe suit with padded shoulders to compensate for the ample girth below. Maybe he was on his way for an audition for "Guys and Dolls." Carothers' waist was about to burst through that suit. To paraphrase Winston Churchill: Never, in the field of human conflict, has so much alderperson been held in place by so few buttons.

fed up Makes total sense for Daley to hire someone with connections to the FED'S that way he can keep one step ahead of them and always have stool pigeion to take the fall. Keep your enemies closer is what they say! Now they sure as hell will never get him for his corruption.

I will give the new hire the benifiet of the doubt. I hope this new leadership will improve the overall profesionalism of the police dept. I am surprised daley would appoint a FBI agent. The FBI seems to be doing alot of investigating into daleys administration I wonder if there will be any conflicts.

vise77, Weis does not have a mustache. I'm cautiously optimistic that hiring someone from outside the ranks will help clean things up. Weis' resume reads pretty well, but let's revisit this story in several months and see how things have really changed.
