This is one of the greatest plays ever written, and one of the greatest movies ever made. Static, yes, but the dialogue and writing are so so so fantastic, you don't need any flying cameras or Scorsese-like musical montages. I am still waiting for David Mamet to tackle Shitty Hall. I bet he could nail Mayor Munchkin to the cross!

Maybe some movies, but not this movie. Jack Lemmon, Al Pacino, Alec Baldwin, they were all great in this flick. It's a great movie. Love it. The play is great too, saw Dave Pasquesi do Ricky Roma, fabulous, but not anymore fabulous than the movie.

Movies made out of plays are boring. Too static regarding setting. Alec Baldwin saved this film.

It might interest some to know that the Alec Baldwin character was not in the original play and the coffee speech did not exist before the movie. Good additions both, I think.
