I would recommend Vasque Sundowner hiking boots. They look good, are really durable (I've had mine for about 4 years now with moderate wear, and the pair I had before that lasted me about 7 years), and are pretty warm. They don't look high-tech and flashy, so you can dress them up or dress them down.

They're Gore-Tex (that's a trademark y'all) lined and the soles grip on just about anything (just walk slowly across the ice, though). Vasque's are a little expensive, but they're worth every penny.
