Kanye does act like a bitch when he loses, I bet its because george bush hates black people. Im sure he will take home a few awards, he is talented as a producer and his sound is very good but some of the lyrics well not so good.

Spook, I dunno how true that is. He certainly helped Lupe and Rhymefest gain exposure, and didn't he just guest on Kid Sister's "Pro Nails?" I mean, he isn't exactly producing Dälek, but if he did snub the Grammys, wouldn't that make a nice statement for the Underground?

Well, we have covered most of those folks in one way or another, though I admit it has been more as pieces of news or listings of notewarthy shows. I diod uncover these with a quick search though: Common Aesop Rock And we have touched upon Kid Sister and the whole crew surrounding her ... but we're always looking to do a better job so thanks for the suggestions on who else to profile.

Matty, what's up with that? Clearly Tony B and I have listened to Kayne Pest, sorry, I mean Kayne West. And since you wanna dis, I bet my knowledge of hip hop is greater than yours! I think bubble gum rap is so on target, that 'm gonna jack the term for myself :-) Tanky I know what you’re saying, but I think you are actually giving testimonial demonstrative of just how Corporate America has subverted hip hop. Yea Kayne is stylistically ahead of "the pack of monochromatic other hip-pop hits and club bangers," but by how much? I don't know, maybe I'm just hating on him or as Kayne said in one of his songs "You might see me in my brand new whip, with my brand new b*tch, you don't like it, get off my brand new d*ck" As many times as you posted about Kayne Pest, I mean West, what about more on Common, Talib, Mos Def, Alchemist, Aesop Rock, Madlib, MF,Doom etc, etc, etc, And of course we got some local talent with folks like All Natural,etc that never get the spot light.

Tankboy & TNGN2 - Agreed. Matty - I've listened to each of his albums, they're nothing more than bubblegum rap. The Daft Punk portion of the one song is the ONLY good part of it. Anyone defending that no talent assclown needs to look no further than his craptacular 'performance' doing Message In A Bottle with The Police.

TonyB and Spook, you're both regular readers so you know I include a caveat in the "forward thinking" category in that Kanye sells millions of albums and still manages to create music that is stylistically ahead of the pack of monochromatic other hip-pop hits and club bangers. Rapping over someone else's song, and saying "uh" "yeah" "C'mon" is forward thinking? Kanye is as forward thinking as he is street. It's funny when people attach value to some vanilla mainstream artist.
