Last-Minute Shopping: Chicago Ave Edition

2007_12_17.bells.jpgThe clock is ticking, lovelies--get those presents purchased and fast. If you still need some last-minute help, though, take the Chicago bus to these three stores where we can practically guarantee you'll find something. We'll be running posts like this all week, so if you know the perfect store, drop us a line: tips@chicagoist.com

You still need a present for: Your mom, your sister, some who recently moved, or someone who likes kitsch, quirky jewelry, or unusual bathy products.
Go to: RR #1 Chicago, 814 N Ashland, open until 7
You could blindfold yourself, walk in to RR#1, grab three things and be fine.

You still need a present for: Your brother, your boyfriend/girlfriend, your cube mate, someone who has in the past made you excellent mix tapes.
Go to:Rotofugi,1953 W. Chicago Ave., open until 8
A weird, awesome toy or collectable from Rotofugi can be as cheap as a few bucks, but it's still a rare, rad little piece. We've given (and received) many a Rotofugi item over the last couple of years, and it's never disappointed.

You still need a present for: Your girlfriend, your best friend, or someone who's really into Fred Flare-style stuff
Go to: Komoda, 2559 W Chicago, open until 8
Komoda is worth the trek for housewares, jewelry, and some fun accessories, most of which are pretty affordable. Plus you can go get some chili at Black Beetle afterwards.
