Hands down, my favorite breakfast spot is Orange. There are a couple locations - one on Harrison St., one at 3231 N. Clark and another on Roscoe. You can't go wrong with green eggs and ham or the Pancake Flight - which consists of four stacks of silver-dollar pancakes, each representing a theme in a different way. The chef picks a new theme each week.

There's also the "frushi" - sweetened rice rolled with pieces of fruit. The chef uses whatever fruit is seasonal, so it's never quite the same from one visit to another.

I've only been to the Clark and Roscoe locations, but they're both great. Clark is more crowded; if you go in on a weekend, you may wait over an hour for a table. They don't take reservations, but you can call ahead and get on the list, I believe.

The last few times we've been in the South Loop, we had fabulous breakfasts at Yolk. Creative and lively, it's a great place to wake up in the morning.
