EXACTLY. 2nd and 1 is a luxury down. That's why they should be using it to try for TDs or at least mid-range gains. Not running off-tackle (which hadn't worked all day) to try to pick up the 1 yard.

With Lovie continuing to treat us like we're idiots and claiming they're still trying to do everything possible to win, I'm surprised he didn't call a time out at the end as well. I do not want to see Devin Hester on offense ever again. And Tarvaris Jackson just sent Brian Urlacher to the pro bowl.

I was surprised Lovie didn't call his last timeout with 15 seconds on the clock after Jackson took a knee on third down. Trailing by one score, why not make the Vikings punt it? It gives the Bears only a slim chance to pull something off, but it would have been a chance nonetheless. Instead, Lovie just gave up.

Why is that stupid playcalling? 2nd and 1 is the biggest luxury of a down in football -- you can do whatever you want. If you want a stupid play call, go with the pass play they went with on 4th and 1. It's a yard. Smash forward and the odds predict that you'll get it.

The game was over when, at some point in the second quarter, the Bears had 2nd and 1 from inside Minnesota's 30. Perfect play action, take a shot at the end-zone down, right? No, they ran the ball off-tackle for no gain. Now you have 3rd and 1. I forget what happened, but I'm positive they didn't score a touchdown. Stupid playcalling.
