Yeah, signs shmigns. I don't see how a local could be unaware of the cell phone ban and I don't have a problem with tourists getting popped. What they need to do is actually enforce the law. 25,000 tickets in almost 2 1/2 years is a joke. I could write 25 a day myself while driving around if I were a cop.

Ugh. Isn't it just a known fact that people who talk on their cell phones while driving are douchbags? I have personally had 5 or 6 incidents where someone on their cellphone almost hit me with their car, and one instance where some idiot talking about brunch or merino sweaters or God knows what you need to be talking about while driving actaully bumped me with his car while crossing a street. After the bumping with the car came the "Hurry up and MOVE" look. Ugh.

That's ridiculous. There aren't signs everywhere saying that red lights mean stop, and yet you still get a ticket if you don't stop at a red. This sounds like a lawsuit filed by a bunch of people who were ignorant of the law and got tickets and now want their money back. Sorry, folks, ignorance of the law is no excuse. You drive while holding a cell phone to your ear, you get a ticket. That's how it works.

They had better NOT repeal this law. I hope it becomes stronger. I, for one, am sick and tired of the idiots on cell phones who are too inconvenienced to put a blinker on because their hands are full (steering wheel, cell phone). I'm sick of almost getting clipped while these jerks are using their phones and can't navigate a turn properly. I could go on and on. Every time I see someone driving while plastering a cell phone to their ear I want to get out of my car and effing smack them upside the head. I wish we could make citizen's arrests!
