We're calling it a day a little early today--and something tells us you are, too.
Police arrested four men and six women today for their involvement with a prostitution ring. The men were charged with involuntary servitude of a minor for pimping girls as young as 14, and the women were charged with prostitution. The charges are the culmination of a three-month investigation in which the police monitored Craigslist. [Tribune.]
Jonathan Rosenbaum, head film critic at the Reader, is retiring. He says it's not because the Reader is imploding, but rather because he is turning 65. [TOC blog]

duh on the craigslist thing. i've never understood why so many people advertise their love for "420" or wanting to "ski" or all that. if i were an undercover cop, i'd be all over that shit. i mean, it's not entrapment if you're fucking putting it out there, is it?

Darn ISE's.....
Too bad about Rosenbaum. I didn't read his columns all that often, but he was a real critic, in this age when newspapers (I won't even address the Internet) so often move people from the real-estate desk to the home interiors section to the film desk, etc.
