Sleep with one eye open, Jim Boylan. Scottie Pippen wants your job. And he's going the media route to getting it, which...probably isn't the classiest or most professional way to do things.
Pippen told the Trib's Sam Smith that he thinks he'd be great at coaching. Pippen says he ran the show on the floor and can't believe no one has asked him to coach yet.
What experience do you need? You have assistants who have been there. If I made a mistake, I wouldn't be the first coach to make a mistake. I'd love the opportunity to be part of the organization now that Skiles is gone. I've won championships with this organization and been in the competition when everything was on the line. I was a coach on the floor. Why isn't that experience?
He's also made his takes on various Bulls pretty damn clear, saying Tyrus Thompson is "great from the neck down," Ben Wallace isn't trying hard enough, Ben Gordon takes bad shots, Kirk Hinrich is "not that talented," Luol Deng is playing for a contract, and Andres Nocioni is "turning into Rasheed Wallace."

Who is Tyrus Thompson?
In all seriousness, I think that Scottie Pippen is thinking a little too highly of himself. Though admittedly I don't know who would be better.
Hmm. Pippen is right about all those players. I'm not sure Scotty Pippen is the right man for the job. I don't know who is. Paxson has assembled a team of limited players that can do one or two things but not much else. The Bulls are light years away from contention. The next coach will be here for 3-5 years and preside over the end of the Heinrich / Deng / Nocioni / Wallace / Gordon era, and probably get sacked as we begin to rebuild.
There is not enough talent on this team to attract good coaching talent. Pippen would be a fool to take over this team as his first gig.

Scottie would find coaching difficult, but maybe Michael Jordan could come in and do all the work, and da pip could just coast to success like he did his whole playing career.
This guy is the most overrated athlete in sports history. I could have scored 10-15 a game with Jordan on my team, and I haven't played since high school!
