Tankboy, an abbreviated round-up is fine, but don't you think, just a little bit, that your choice of comments like "Aim high guys!" and "Uh . . . now it's not shrinking" in the process of abbreviating adds an editorialized spin that suggests that either you didn't really read the stories that you're linking to or, worse, didn't understand them? Did it turn out that the lake had simply misplaced the 13 inches lost in the last year and it turned up somewhere? No, it really has shrunk. Etc., etc.

And what's with "erm" and "uh" all the time? Makes me feel like I'm reading an instant message from a high schooler.

Erm, Extra Extra is supposed to be an abbreviated round-up of stories we didn't cover. That's why we include links.

However, thanks for the feedback!

Granted, Chicagoist has its share of stinkers posted once in a while, but this is one of the most jackassed posts I've seen in a long time. Way to sensationalize stories without any sense of context or, say, relevant facts, Tankboy, re: the U of I online enterprise and the Lake Michigan levels. Useless. Good example of abbreviating a story to meaninglessness.

Our writing 5 show had monster trucks and grammar jokes...

Top that, Margaret. Top that, indeed.
