I was thinking the same thing last week when i saw the "Where In The World Is Britney Spears" online feature on the Sun Times website. "Have you seen Britney? On the Mag Mile?" it asked. "Tell us!" Whether it's the dwindling staff or dwindling morale, yep, poor taste all around.

I doubt it takes much money to run that type of story. In fact, I am pretty sure the reporting was cheap on that one. Long-term investigative reporting and foreign correspondence is what costs a lot.

So the Sun-Times is laying off reporters, but it still has the money to run a moronic article about presidential candidates' sexiness? I believe the latter is the natural consequence of the former. We have just witnessed the future of Chicago newspaper journalism, folks.
