I worked for NBC when that Tea Leoni show was on the air, and when I think of her, all I can think of is the promos for that show that sang her name to the tune of La Bamba. "T-T-T-Tea Leoni. T-T-T-Tea Leoni on NBC. On NBC, on NBC."

@Tracadie Harbor & Karl Klockars

Thirded.

Oh, if it weren't for Jeff Richmond and about 400,000 comedy nerds ahead of me...

Jake M: I understand the timeliness of the reference, just...Tea Leoni? When I think "Tea Leoni" I think "David Duchovny's wife," maybe "that one actress in that one 'end of the world'" movie. Not "comic actress extraordinaire."

Tracadie: Yes.

I can't wait to see the rest of the Playboy piece. I hope the interviewer had enough presence of mind to ask where Tina stands on the question of whether or not Logan Square has become too gentrified. I just KNOW she hates the fact that the neighborhood is crawling with yuppies.

Another bleeting gasbag weighs in:

"There are more terrible female comedians than there are terrible male comedians, but there are some impressive ladies out there. Most of them, though, when you come to review the situation, are hefty or dykey or Jewish, or some combo of the three."

Wow!! Fancy writing, Cristopher Hitchens.

I went to see "Fred Claus" based on a Tina Fey review of the film. Worst movie ever. Women cannot review movies as well as men.

@simplecreature

Please, tell me where I can find these "authentic Chicago neighborhoods". I'm so curious! Curious as well to know what exactly bleeting means? Is that one of those terms used solely by twenty-something, pseudo-city dwellers living in the suburbs? Dude, you have got to tell me in what authentic part of town you and your crew can be overheard dropping this hip lingo. Fo' reelz, I will give you "mad props" for the "solid."

It's a 12 year old column. The Naked Truth was on at the time. Why are you so surprised that he would have mentioned Tea Leoni?

"I also gave props to"

Eww...did a man in his late forties just use the term "props"?

Roeper is lame, loud and obnoxious. The epitome of that bleeting psuedo-suburban city dweller who moves from downtown to sporting arenas to lincoln park bars and never really experiences anything close to authentic Chicago neighborhoods.

I still contend he has pictures of Roger Ebert doing something horrible and that's why he got Siskel's seat.

Roeper has always struck me as a prick; the "she's in love with me" joke confirms it.
