Bowles Strolls Past the Avenues

2007_02_graham_elliot.jpgSome chef news for you: Monday both Chicago Mag's Dish and TOC broke the news that Avenues' Graham Elliot Bowles will be leaving the AAA five-diamond award winning restaurant in April to open a new restaurant in the former Harvest on Huron space (217 W. Huron).

Bowles told Dish that he's looking to create "redefined dining." Gone will be the restraints he faced making progressive cuisine in a hotel fine dining atmosphere, replaced by a menu and atmosphere that Bowles says will be "as reflective of the chef as possible." Folks looking to walk on the wild side at Avenues needn't fear. Taking over for Bowles in mid-April will be Curtis Duffy, who most recently was Grant Achatz's chef de cuisine at Alinea.
