the strike isn't solved. a couple of small production companies, such as Letterman's WorldWidePants, made agreements with the WGA. The major production companies are still not working with the WGA.

candidates do what will get them votes. if anything, you should have a problem with the american public rather than the candidates for doing things like this. same goes for the smear campaigns that are the norm. though smear campaigns are nothing new

I think A2 is right--the candidates may see his a way to appeal to more voters and come across as more human, whatever the hell that means, but I think it is degrading to go about vote getting this way. The YouTube debates may have had some potential, but they have fallen flat and became embarassing to watch. Then again, politicians been kissing babies and cutting ribbons and driving golden shovels in the ground for a while, so maybe nothing's really different. And some even offer free rides on mass transit.

I like Obama but am sick of seeing the (potential) most powerful man/men in the world appear on late night talk shows, self-denigrating skits, etc. in attempts to look "cool." It all started with Clinton and his saxophone...now it's an epidemic. Now we even have the ridiculous "Youtube" debates. I have to agree with Mitt Romney when he said the potential President of the United States is above being asked questions by an animated Snowman.
