I remember sneaking in there. There were fire escapes on the rear wall that you could climb up and break in through any of the fire exits.

The interior was extremely dark and smelled like cement and mildew. There were huge slabs of concrete that had fallen, so we were scared to walk around much for fear of crushing debris. It was around the time that everybody was listening to U2's "The Unforgettable Fire" album.

The building that replaced it was called "Granada Center" and was rental apartments and offices for Loyola. Now the apartment building is a Loyola dorm with offices as well and storefronts at ground level. Very unsightly.

6427 N. Sheridan Road. It's now a parking garage for Loyola University, their Campus Safety office sits at the ground level.
