I would hope that a bus driver would be able to tell when a 20-something is using a senior photo ID to ride for free.

But if the cards work just like any other CTA card, then what's to prevent someone from snagging their grandma's pass and riding free? That's what I've been saying ever since this dopey idea came to light. All you'd have to do is get Grandma to sign up for a card, then use it on the El to your heart's content.

In other words, it works exactly the same way the current reduced fare rides work. I'm not saying it wasn't a bad idea. It's just not as bad as it could be.
