Five Shot Dead at Suburban Lane Bryant

By Prescott Carlson in News on Feb 2, 2008 11:02PM

An unknown gunman went on a rampage inside a Lane Bryant store at Brookside Marketplace shopping center in south suburban Tinley Park earlier today, opening fire and killing five women. A police source is speculating that robbery was the motive, but the source had the same question we did -- why pick a clothing store to make your big score?

Why the shooter targeted the store is anyone’s guess. “It’s not a place where you would find a lot of cash,’’ the source said, adding that a suspect did make off with some valuables.

The suspect is described as male, African-American, 5 feet 9 inches, between 230 and 260 pounds, and he was wearing a black winter coat, black hat and dark jeans. Any of our readers have more information on this? Contact the Tinley Park police at 708-444-5368.
