Last week I made a Martha Stewart recipe for mac and cheese.

Several kinds of gourmet cheeses, a roux, bread cubes...and a lot of time and mess and I've got to say that a box of Kraft would have been just as good if not better (but not the easy mac as Shannon says).

Mmmmm... Kraft Dinner (as every good Canadian will always refer to instant mac & cheese), a comfort food from my childhood. I've made all sorts of baked macaroni & cheese recipes from wholesome, organic ingredients which taste way better. Sometimes, though, you need a Kraft Dinner fix. It's easy, cheap & yummy.

So, from the tone of the aside, I take it you frown upon microwave ownership? Umm, it's just a tool. I think the fresh vegetables I steam in my microwave are at least as healthy as any number of things that could be prepared atop your bourgeouis stove. You'll actually find microwaves in many of your top restaurant kitchens these days.

That said, I loves me some powdered cheese sauce.

i'm sensing some severe kraft prejudice in this article. granted, i get 90% of my RDA sodium intake from your boxes, but what else am i, one of the laziest denizens of the city, going to do for dinner? i can't argue with easy. (unless it's easy mac, which royally sucks.)
