Ah, Chicagoist reads Digg too. Unfortunately, the other commenters here do not so they're unaware that this "jackass" interviewer is the one who posted the video to YouTube and if you watch his other videos you'll see that he's not being a dick. Instead, he's doing what a lot of people are afraid to do - which is to ask these sign waving supporters why they are supporting a particular candidate.
Seriously, watch the one where he tears into so called Clinton supporter (middle-aged white woman).
Actually I found this through Tony Pierce. And you have to admit the interviewer was a tad aggressive, and it's refreshing to see someone give well-though answers despite the interviewer's manner.
I don't disagree that the reporter is aggressive. But I don't think he's abrasive nor do I think he's a "jackass".
It's important to ask tough questions not only to politicians but to the people who support those politicians.
The reason this man was able to give well-thought answers is because Obama hasn't danced around these issues. If you know what their agenda is it's often easier to repeat it.
This is one of the better videos that's making its way through the tubes right now. And the more people that see it the better. However, people shouldn't focus so much on the reporter as that's not the point of the video. It's the intelligent human being in front of it we should be focusing on.
I agree that the reporter was not a "jackass". He was being forward and aggressive, sure. But let's not try to turn this negative, this is a very positive video.
This kid is amazing. He knows the topic, he knows how to debate his point, he knows what he's doing. We didn't have people like this 4 or 8 years ago. We had apathetics and shoulder shrugs. We had people who didn't care. Now they do.
This video is amazing because people care. This time around people are aware. The younger generation understands that there are issues, and that they can affect things. They don't want to make the same mistakes that have been made over and over for the past 8 years.
The interviewer was a complete jackass, and the interviewee was able to put together well thought out, coherent replies. Way to go!
Not really sure why this "reporter" is quizzing this guy on what he'd do to strengthen the healthcare system, but this guy gave some solid answers.
