Penguin Chick at Brookfield Zoo

Ow, my heart. A still-unnamed Humboldt Penguin chick is being raised by zookeepers rather than its parents because the little guy (or girl) wasn't growing fast enough.

Zookeepers are using big plush penguins as stand-ins so the chick doesn't bond too much with humans. More pictures after the jump.

They should stick this penguin plush in the cage, so then the baby penguin would grow up to learn how to wear hats.
